Oh, Hayden...you got me crying over here. Darn it!!
I am picturing you spinning around looking up at the snowflakes (in awe), rocking your nephew to sleep while smiling down at him, slowly walking over to his older brother and helping "tuck him in," then walking over to your desk with the biggest smile on your face. Breathing in deep, bowing your head, holding it there...letting a single tear fall realizing that life is good as is and that, yes, the small things are the true magic.
"You don’t have to be at “the most magical place on earth” to recognize the small moments you overlook every day." We ALL need to live more in the moment and not the past or future...
What’s amazing about what you described is that literally is how I tuck them in when they both sleep in my guest room/office. I got a trundle bed for them for when they’re both here and if I manage to get them to sleep there, that is what that scene looks like. Although my desk turns into their TV stand.
Those boys are my whole world honestly. They’re such great kids. They help me see the world differently.
